OUR HEALTHY KITCHEN

Angels on The Park understands the importance of the right nutrition in childhood and beyond. We prepare and cook all of our meals and snacks in our professional on-site kitchen, where our trained chef uses fresh, organic ingredients wherever possible. We do not use processed ingredients, and even our jam is home-made! 

MAKING Mealtimes FUN

We encourage a positive relationship with nutritious food and ingredients by using fresh produce in play - for example, you will find vegetables and fruit in our home-corner kitchens - giving children opportunities to smell, touch, taste and see 'real' food, rather than pretend. Children will also, where possible, prepare their own Afternoon Tea, so home-made pizzas are home-made - by children with the support of practitioners and sandwiches and wraps have fillings chosen and prepared by the children who are eating them. 

Children will even grow their own produce in our vegetable garden, sowing the seeds of good eating habits from childhood. 

meal and snack times

Our meal and snack times are social occasions, where children are encouraged to choose their vegetables and side dishes and serve themselves, promoting independence and conceptualisation of the link between healthy food and healthy bodies. 

In addition, we welcome healthy packed lunches, which are stored in accordance with the strictest food storage and handling rules and served to children in the same social, relaxed way as the meals we offer.
